The most important thing about working out is π€ showing up π€ !
If you don't find yourself in a gym at least 2-3 times a week or on a mat at home with dedicated time and equipment, it won't matter what exercise, what weight, what sets and reps you choose it will not give you results.
You have to schedule it every week, preferably at the same times, so you can track your progress with similar circumstances. If you can do it randomly, then do it randomly, just show up and do it multiple times a week.
If you thought that losing weight takes too much time, then I regret to inform you that building muscle is a much more slower process. You can lose 50-80kg-s a year, you can only build a few kilos of muscle in a year.
Workout has a lot of health benefits other than building muscle and improving the cardiovascular system: you will feel accomplishment, less stress, you will get into a better mood, you will sleep better as well.
Where to start?
1. Walk 6k steps daily, then increase to 10k steps; do it in nature for better mental effects (eg. decrease stress even more, enjoy the sunshine).
2. Build strength: light full body workout 2-3 times a week with 1 rest day between each session at least.
As a beginner your body is not used to training, therefore the safest way to start is to go light, a few sets per exercise and muscle group: chest, back, arms, abs, legs, shoulders.
In the first few weeks research what exercises are there and try them. Pick which ones you enjoy the most. Pay attention to how the movement is done correctly, then find the weight that you can do 8-10 reps without failing to do the complete movement. You should do 1 or 2 sets and 1 or 2 exercises per muscle group.
As usual in this field every parameter needs to be customised for your exact case: age, sex, equipment, time, physical limitations, injuries etc.
Every gym has trainers, you can pay them to help you or message me π¨ for free, I'm glad to help you start!
